IP Video Surveillance Solutions
IP-Video integrated solutions for loss prevention, resolution of disputes and improved understanding of consumer behavior
Millions of dollars are lost each year by retail organizations due to shoplifting, point of sale fraud and employee theft. To protect themselves, retailers have recognized the importance of implementing video surveillance in retail areas and around cash registers.
OnSSI’s intelligent IP video surveillance solutions go beyond monitoring and playing back video, by integrating with the company’s internal transaction, access control and other security systems.
Convergence with Access Control and Physical Security Systems
The non-proprietary, open-architecture OnSSI Platform is geared for integration with external physical security systems. Events generated by access control, contact closure, fire panels or emergency phones can trigger the recording the event, and even automatically pushing video of the event to a users client. Furthermore, by applying video content analytics in tandem with access control systems, exceptions such as human tailgating (see video) or declined access can be detected, identified and pushed to users as video alerts.
Consumer Behavior Situational Awareness
The OnSSI platform can be used as a marketing tool to assess purchasing patterns, tracking not only what was purchased, but also identifying specific tendencies and behaviors exhibited during the purchasing process. It can reveal which in-store displays are most popular, how people navigate around the store, and which products are regularly considered but not purchased. It can also identify sources of irritation for customers which prevent purchases, such as identifying long lines, etc.
By utilizing OnSSI’s advanced video analytics capabilities, automated alerts can be issued upon a certain people count in an area or department, or specific crowd movement behaviors. This allows for dynamically adjusting the number of open cash registers or placing sales associates where they are most needed.
Video presenting consumer behavior by product displays can also be easily shared over the IP network with vendors, saving them the need to send representatives to assess the customers’ response to their products and shelf placement. Such data sharing systems can be turned into a profit center within the store.
Share Video Across Multiple Branches
Video from multiple NetDVMS NVR Servers at multiple branches can be accessed, monitored and investigated from anywhere on the network, on the Web, or through portable (cellphone and PDA) clients. Cameras from multiple NVRs can be presented within user-configurable views, allowing for synchronous playback of all cameras, and investigation assisted by digital PTZ into playback, video content analytics, motion smart search into playback, and instant access to events (generated both within and outside the system).
Multiple-site retail deployments can also take advantage of the presentation capabilities and ease of use of the NetSwitcher video wall display virtual matrix switch, which enables monitoring an unlimited number of cameras at multiple sites by very few operators through an intuitive, touch screen map-driven interface.
